What is RoHS?
RoHS stands for the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive. It restricts the use of specific hazardous materials in the manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment.
Is a real-time clock available?
Yes. A real-time clock is standard on the AS3 and can be used for past trip monitoring and calendar-based functionality.
Is the AS3 available in Active Front End?
An Active Front End is not available as a standard AS3 offering. It can only be implemented using external, third-party front-end products.
Does Toshiba offer heatsink flange kits for the AS3?
Yes. Flange‑mount kits are available for all AS3 horsepower ratings and allow the drive to be mounted in an enclosure with the heatsink extending outside the enclosure (heatsink out-the-back mounting).
Are dynamic braking transistors standard on AS3 drives?
Yes, dynamic braking transistors are standard on the following models:
- 230 V units up to 50 HP Heavy Duty (HD) / 60 HP Normal Duty (ND)
- 460 V units up to 100 HP HD / 125 HP ND
- 460 V 250 HP HD / 350 HP ND model
All other AS3 models require the dynamic braking transistor option to be installed.
Does the AS3 support DC-Injection Braking?
Yes. DC injection braking is supported, with adjustable settings that include start frequency, current percentage, braking time, and forward/reverse activation. Relevant parameters are F249 through F253.
What are the NEMA® and IP enclosure ratings for the AS3?
- 230 V, Heavy Duty (HD): NEMA 1 / IP20 up to 50 HP; IP00 above 50 HP
- 230 V, Normal Duty (ND): NEMA 1 / IP20 up to 60 HP; IP00 above 60 HP
- 460 V, Heavy Duty (HD): NEMA 1 / IP20 up to 100 HP; IP00 above 100 HP
- 460 V, Normal Duty (ND): NEMA 1 / IP20 up to 125 HP; IP00 above 125 HP
Do I need a conduit adapter for the AS3 to be Nema1?
Yes. A conduit adapter is required for frame sizes A6 and above.
