Toshiba’s WC1 active front end (AFE) adjustable speed drive (ASD) is a cost- effective, space-saving solution designed to simplify installation while enhancing performance. Its advanced design incorporates silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFETs, which offer superior electrical and thermal performance compared to traditional silicon IGBTs. By significantly reducing harmonic distortion and eliminating the need for external filters, the WC1 minimizes system complexity and lowers upfront equipment costs. With a true sine wave output, the WC1 extends motor life and removes the need for inverter duty motors, upsizing, or additional motor accessories.
