Toshiba International Corporation is proud to announce that our 2025 Summer Interns made history as the first Toshiba group to volunteer with Kids’ Meals, a Houston-based nonprofit dedicated to ending childhood hunger.
Kids’ Meals is the only home-delivery meal program in the U.S. focused exclusively on preschool-aged children—those five and under—who are not eligible for school-based meal assistance. The need is especially urgent in Harris County, which ranks No. 1 nationally for child food insecurity among densely populated counties.
Serving 56 zip codes across Greater Houston, Kids’ Meals delivers over 9,000 nutritious meals every weekday to young children. During the summer, when school is out, the program expands to include all children in the household up to age 18, increasing daily deliveries to more than 16,000 meals.
Our interns rolled up their sleeves and spent an afternoon assembling and packing 2,600 sandwiches, directly supporting this vital mission. Their hands-on contribution helped ensure thousands of children received the nourishment they need to grow, learn, and thrive.
Toshiba is committed to supporting the local community, and we are inspired by the energy, compassion, and commitment of our interns for their meaningful impact on Houston families.
