Is the reconditioning cost a flat rate?

Yes, reconditioning is charged at a flat rate, depending on the service level. However, this does not include any necessary repairs. If repairs are identified during inspection, a separate estimate will be provided. Extremely dirty modules may also incur a deep cleaning fee.

What are the different levels of reconditioning offered?

Toshiba offers three tiers of reconditioning services:

  • Basic: Includes inspection, fiber optic cable replacement, IGD board replacement, power supply replacement, and full factory testing.
  • Basic Plus: Adds extensive cleaning and reapplication of thermal compound.
  • Advanced: Includes all Basic Plus services plus replacement of all IGBTs and clamping diodes for a complete refurbishment.

All levels include a 1-year TOSHcare Protection Plan.

What is Power Module Reconditioning and why is it recommended?

Power Module Reconditioning is a proactive maintenance service designed to extend the life and improve the reliability of your power modules—whether they’re in use or stored. It involves cleaning, inspection, replacement of key circuit boards and components, and factory testing. This helps prevent failures caused by aging components or extended downtime.

My ASD is installed in a harsh environment. Can Toshiba factory personnel perform maintenance and offer recommendations for optimal operation?

Yes. Toshiba provides two tailored Preventive Maintenance (PM) contracts designed to support the performance of your ASD in demanding conditions:

  • Basic Preventive Maintenance Contract
    Annual servicing by factory-trained technicians including equipment cleaning, calibration, and fine-tuned to operate smoothly despite the environmental challenges.
  • Advanced Preventive Maintenance Contract
    In addition to the basic service, we perform in-depth testing of ASD components, analyze fault history, and deliver expert recommendations to optimize performance and adjust maintenance strategies based on real-world usage.

Both basic and advanced PM are automatically included with the purchase of a TOSHcare® Protection Plan, offering scheduled service and expert support from factory personnel.

My ASD is running fine without maintenance, but I know annual service is recommended. What’s the most cost-effective way to get it done?

Toshiba offers two great options:

  • Preventive Maintenance Contract
    Choose a set-cost annual maintenance plan for up to three years. This option lets you budget maintenance in advance and shields you from future price increases.
  • TOSHcare® Protection Plan
    This package includes the same scheduled preventive maintenance plus coverage for defects in materials and workmanship. It offers a similar level of protection to the original factory warranty.
