  • *1 : Typical range
  • *2 : STG output of GXP-2B is higher than that of GXP-2C. Therefore, the power plant area of GXP-2B is larger than that of GXP-2C.
  • *3 : GXP-X can cover 10-20 MW, which is the capacity range for conventional geothermal power plants in general, meaning that the product pursues performance to maximize cost-effectiveness for the customer's revenue. This is a different concept from GXP-2B/2C/5C. GXP-X can produce more than double the output of GXP-5C whilst consuming less than twice the steam flow required by GXP-5C.

With our proven and exclusive technologies, Toshiba has been able to successfully design geothermal turbines that are based on a high efficiency-oriented design, cover wide capacity ranges. In addition, Toshiba can enhance performance of existing sites through complete steam path retrofits. These upgrades offer performance improvements and enhance anti-erosion/corrosion capacity with less chance of stress corrosion cracking than previous designs by other OEMs.

The Impulse Steam Path design used in Toshiba’s power plants has been proven to be the most suitable solution for Geothermal plants, as it is highly efficient, easier to maintain, and has less clogging caused by scaling. High reliability and design are achieved through our unique design and construction features such as: horizontal split casing, proven blade fixtures, solid rotors, robust blades, fewer stages, wide chord nozzles, and true centerline support of casings and nozzle diaphragms.
